Interests

I believe in constant self-learning and development and look to find ways to be a better “me”.  I focus on filling the quiet moments during the day, or time when I am travelling, with content absorption, whether that is through webinars, podcasts or audio books as well as through analogue medium.  I look for transferrable skills, understanding how I can add value to those around me as well as myself.

I am a natural explorer, with an inquisitive mind.  Travel has been part of my working and personal life for over a decade and I have been fortunate enough to see and experience some of the world’s greatest treasures, developing my love for photography.  I am a registered NHS Voluntary Responder, providing assistance where necessary in the COVID-19 pandemic.

The most important part of my life though is still my family and sharing precious moments with them is what puts a smile on my face.

Key skills required and demonstrated

  •   Self-development & learning
  •   Personal drive & focus on constant improvement
  •   Proactivity & prioritisation
  •   Project management & delivery

I have a life-long passion for football.  Whilst I was almost good enough when I was younger to play at a decent standard, my career in the game has been spent watching matches across the world.  This has given rise to a sideline in football-travel writing under the name The Football Tourist.  This has so far spawned three books published by Ockley Books, with one more due in 2024.

I was the Chair of Lewes Football Club until late 2023, who are the world’s first semi/professional club to pay its Men’s and Women’s teams the same.  I also serve on the Board of Directors for the Isthmian Football League who represent over 80 teams playing at Steps 3 and 4 of the National League.

In 2024 I became a board advisor for Kent County Cricket, using my experience and expertise in the development of Women’s and Girls sport, Fan Experience and commercialisation of data to contribute to the strategy for one of England and Wales 18 cricket counties.

Key skills required and demonstrated:
